i am naturally ‘biased’ against ‘journals’
many of them are hard for me to ‘get’
many of them seem ‘haphazard’
this one however is ‘better’
pretty sure matthew donahoo ‘put this together’
he did a good job he got big names in alt-lit
tao lin
sam pink
ofelia hunt
other people
ofelia had 4 pieces of fiction. wasn’t sure about reading them
i was mixed on ‘today & tomorrow’
but there’s a different tone ‘now’ with these pieces and that tone i enjoyed
thumbs up for horseghost version of ofelia hunt
tao lin contributed hamster koala pictures

(partial hamster koala picture)
wonder if tao’s art will take the same ‘road’ as his writing ie he will give drawings out for free for awhile until someone ‘contracts’ with him for an art book, then he will only contribute short videos until someone ‘contracts’ with him for a web series and then
on
and
on
something seems ‘funny’ about the hamster koala pictures
does marshall mallicoat write poetry?
really like paul christian ‘for real’
very sophisticated & interesting
someone might call paul christian a ‘fresh new voice’ not sure if i’m that ‘someone’ or not
brittany wallace’s poems were ‘refreshingly’ classical
‘octopus dough balls’ by elaine sun & spencer madsen is a video transcript and some may it call it ‘a riot’ this ‘may be’ my favorite piece of the journal, not really sure though, but read it anyway
these were good
will read ‘horseghost’ some more.
